Resilience and Endurance in Nectar in a Sieve: A Study of Human Spirit Amidst Hardship explores the indomitable strength of the human spirit as portrayed through the lives of Rukmani and Nathan. The novel presents a poignant account of rural life marked by poverty, displacement, and social change. This paper examines how resilience and endurance emerge as essential survival mechanisms in the face of relentless suffering. It analyses the characters’ responses to economic instability, environmental uncertainties, and personal losses, highlighting their capacity to adapt and persist. The study also investigates how hope, emotional strength, and moral values sustain the protagonists despite harsh realities. By focusing on the interplay between human vulnerability and inner strength, the paper argues that resilience in the novel is not merely passive suffering but an active, conscious effort to preserve dignity and meaning in life. Ultimately, the research underscores that the human spirit, though tested by adversity, remains capable of endurance and quiet resistance.
