Explore the factors affecting the management of teaching activities in online training at the university level at higher education institutions

Abstract

Online training is becoming an important part of higher education in the context of digital transformation, and at the same time sets new requirements for teaching management activities to ensure the quality and effectiveness of training. This study aims to explore the factors influencing the management of teaching activities in university-level online training at higher education institutions in Vietnam. The study used a combination of literature analysis and questionnaire surveys of 255 administrators, faculty, students, and education professionals. The data were tested for reliability using Cronbach's Alpha coefficient and analyzed using descriptive statistics using mean and standard deviation. The results show that five groups of factors have a direct impact on the management of teaching activities in online training, including: (1) management of technology infrastructure and online training platforms; (2) management of lecturers and teaching activities; (3) learner management and learning support activities; (4) management of digital learning materials, testing and evaluation and quality assurance; and (5) managing policies, organizations, and supportive environments. In particular, the technological infrastructure and teaching organization capacity of lecturers are evaluated at a higher level than the rest of the factor groups, while digital learning material management, testing and evaluation and quality assurance are still areas that need to be prioritized for improvement. The research contributes to supplementing the practical basis for higher education management, and at the same time provides a scientific basis for higher education institutions to develop online training management solutions in the direction of synchronization, quality assurance and meeting the requirements of digital transformation.
